Alpha Omega & Cleveland Alumni Chapters took part in LifeBanc’s first focus group that was held on Sunday February 19th at Lifebanc’s Center located at 4775 Richmond Rd Warrensville Hts, Ohio 44128 and over 30 guests present. The Health Forum was used to provide an open dialogue about the issue of organ, eye, and tissue donation in the African American Community. LifeBanc’s Multicultural Coordinator Yolanda Hamilton worked hard to have the ONLY African-American transplant surgeon in Ohio, Dr. Charles S. Modlin of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation present his cases and research with our focus group. The focus group was hosted by the Alpha Omega Chapter of Cleveland, Ohio. As we embark into this spring semester we will continue to make a difference in our community. Alpha Omega’s brothers always say in order for us to do it there has to be a “cause for the occasion”. The Alpha Omega Chapter has played huge a role in LifeBanc’s Services. Due to a recent incident regarding past East Central Province JVP & Alpha Omega initiate Roy-Allen Bumpers. During his healthcare visit it was discovered that he developed an illness called chronic kidney disease which is the slow loss of kidney function over time. Soon Brother Bumpers will be in need of an organ donor and it was with out question that his fraternity brothers weren’t going to support him in his quest to getting him a donor.
