Jacksonville Alumni Guide Right Kappa League Members Kenneth Martin II and Kendal Williams were recently featured on First Coast News as Student of the Week & Athlete of the Week respectively. Martin is a senior at Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology and anchors the Silver Eagle News each morning. He’s an aspiring journalist that teachers describe as a model for other television news students. His teacher, Charlie Tullington nominated him for the honor. “Ken’s always doing something to make our news better,” Tullington said. “This year, he’s gotten himself so poised and professional that I don’t think he’ll have any problems getting into the industry.”

Jacksonville Alumni Kappa League Member & Athlete of the Week Kendal Williams at Bob Hayes Invitational Track Meet in Jacksonville, FL

Williams is a junior at Stanton College Preparatory School. He is chasing a third consecutive state championship in the 100 meter dash. Kendall’s personal record in the 100 is 10.37 seconds. He set that mark during his sophomore year in a meet at UNF. On Saturday, March 16th, Williams won the 200 meter dash at the Bob Hayes Invitational Track & Field Meet. His accolades include 3A 100m and 2x200m State Champion; USATF National Junior Olympic 100M & 200M Champion; AAU Club National 100m & 200m record Holder (Intermediate); USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championship 100m & 200m Champion. Kendal was dubbed the “Fastest Sprinter on the First Coast” this year.
