Kappa League Conference Convenes in Birmingham

The Birmingham Kappa League sponsored by the Birmingham (AL) Alumni chapter hosted a Kappa League conference in Birmingham, AL on the campus of the University of Alabama Birmingham. The conference was held Friday, March 22nd & Saturday, March 23rd, 2013.The conference included presentations by a Birmingham Foot Soldier Joe Black on the 1963 Civil Rights Foot Soldier experience and various workshops on topics ranging from “How to be Competitive in the Business World” to “How to Operate an Effective Kappa League”. Approximately 200 Kappa Leaguers attended. Kappa League programs from all over the states of Alabama and Mississippi attended. Kappa League Chapters in attendance included Mobile (AL), Montgomery (AL), Northport (AL), Selma (AL), Alabaster-Pelham (AL), Talladega (AL), Birmingham (AL), Jackson (MS), Meridian (MS), Gulfport (MS) and Huntsville (AL).

The conference finale was a step show held at the Boutwell Auditorium with close to 800 attendees present.
