On Saturday, December 15, 2012 the Miami Alumni chapter partnered with the Little Haiti Optimist Club in providing toys to underprivileged youth of Miami’s tough Little Haiti community.  The day featured games, a petting zoo, musical talent, free food, face painting, pictures with Santa, and of course a toy give-away.  Toys and bikes were distributed to over 1,000 kids in attendance.  The Miami Alumni chapter donated toys collected at their annual Christmas party for the event.

The Little Haiti Optimist Club is a non-profit organization established in 2010 to provide programs to the youth of Little Haiti by providing education, mentorship, athletics, art, and cultural programming.  The Miami Alumni chapter has partnered with the Little Haiti Optimist Club on a number of ventures including the “Elite Achievers” mentoring program where members of the chapter provide encouragement, support, and educational assistance to young men from the troubled neighborhood.
