Miami Alumni Participates in Annual Community Paint and Beautification Day

On March 16, 2013 members of the Miami Alumni Chapter participated in the 9th Annual Community Paint and Beautification Day Project. The purpose for the event is to help assist homeowners with limited income impact their homes by providing exterior painting and landscape restoration. The event was started by Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida. Their goal is to empower homeowners and to guide community pride through this neighborhood project. The target area was the Brownville neighborhood of Miami- Dade County. The event consisted of providing restoration to the exterior of 10 low and middle income homes. The event is 9 years old and has risen over 150,000 in donations, involves more than 950 volunteers and assisted more than 55 homes.
