Tucson-Sierra Vista Alumni Chapter Recognized at 77th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet

The Greater Huachuca (Sierra Vista, AZ) Area Branch NAACP held its 77th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Thunder Mountain Activity Center in Fort Huachuca. The Tucson-Sierra Vista Alumni Chapter was recognized at this years banquet. The NAACP Renown Service Award for 2014 is awarded for superior community service rendered by an individual or organization. The award was awarded to the chapter based on its excellent work with the Guide Right Program, the Z Mansion were Tucson homeless are feed, the Sydney L. Dawson Scholarship program benefiting high school seniors, and chapter support and recognition of Juneteenth.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the nation’s oldest and most widely recognized grassroots based civil rights organization is celebrating its 105th anniversary. The NAACP continues to fight for human and civil rights for all ethnicity.
